Cultural programmes on Independence Day in the State Capital will be held at Bharat Bhavan, instead of Ravindra Bhavan. This was decided at a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa regarding preparations for Independence Day.
Culture and School Education departments will hold these programmes jointly. Police Band performance and award distribution will also be held on the occasion.
The Chief Secretary directed that departments must send information for Chief Minister’s message positively by August 5 to Commissioner Public Relations. DeSa said that General Administration Department and DGP should issue circular for presence of all officers in the programme.
It was informed that main function at Bhopal will be held at Motilal Nehru stadium from 9 am. Chief Minister will unfurl National flag and read out his message for people. Joint parade will be held by contingents of police, SAF, NCC, RAF, Jail Departments, Home Guards and Scouts and Guides.
All public buildings and monuments of national importance will be illuminated in the night. All freedom fighters, families of martyred soldiers of Kargil War and state’s MISA detainees will be invited with respect to state and district level functions.
Along with main function at the state capital, flag will also be hoisted on all public buildings. Flag will be unfurled and National Anthem sum in all educational institutions from 8 am. Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Ministers, Ministers of State will unfurl flag at district headquarters, Chairpersons at Janpad Panchayat, Nagar Palika and Nagar Panchayats and sarpanchs will unfurl flag at Panchayat level. Heads of departments will unfurl National Flag at all public buildings.
Flag will be hoisted and National Anthem sung in all educational institutions. Cultural, literary and entertainment programmes, sports and plantation will also be held and Prabhat Pheries taken out.
Competition of chorus singing of National Anthem will be held at schools and colleges at district, division and state levels and Freedom Run will be held at district level.
