The police constable held in connection with firing at Doordarshan Centre Marenga in Jagdalpur wherein three jawans of Chhattisgarh Armed Force had died, was released from the district court, District Prosecution Officer (DPO) informed on Friday.“Majhar Khan was released by the district court,” DPO AB Guru told The Pioneer.
Notably the incident took place in Doordarshan transmission centre at Marenga village under Parpa police station limits on the intervening night of May 11-12, 2013.Out of four police personnel on duty Majhar Khan was the lone survivor.The deceased were identified as head constable Silbhanush Ekka and constables Alexander lakra and Vasudev Sahu all belonging to Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF).
Immediately after the incident police had termed it as Naxal attack. However investigations later revealed that after some mutual dispute between the police personnel firing took place. Majhar somehow survived the gun battle after sustaining serious injuries.
