Country's first career counselling centre in Hisar district soon

The country’s first National Career Counseling Centre to provide counseling to the jobless people would be set up in Haryana’s Hisar district. Union Minister of State for labour and Employment, Bandaru Dattatreya on Monday said that the first National Career Counseling Centre would be set up in Hisar and similar centres would be gradually set up all over the country.

Speaking after inaugurating the newly constructed building of Sub- Regional Office of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), in Rohtak on Monday, Dattatreya said that the Centre would provide employment to about one crore people during the next two years.  A web portal would also be set up for the purpose. In employment offices, registered unemployed people would be advised on the job opportunities in the private sector through SMS every month.

Dattatreya also said that works were executed under the ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’ and ‘Skill India’ programmes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With this initiative, foreign investment worth crores of rupees would come. It would help boost industrial and infrastructural facilities and create more jobs, he added.

Under the Skill India programme, training would be imparted to farm labourers so that they could increase their income. As many as 16 Ministries of the Centre would impart such training in which women would get 33 per cent reservation, he added.

He disclosed that the EPFO had unclaimed amount of Rs27,000 crore in  the accounts of labourers and employees. The Ministry has decided to run a campaign at the national-level to return this amount to them.

The Government would also set up help desks and universal account numbers would be allotted to the employees for the purpose, said the Minister. later talking to mediapersons, Dattatreya said that the EPFO had solved about 1.19 crore cases at the national level. Over four lakh such cases would be disposed off in Haryana. He added that hospitals were being run under ESI Scheme to provide medical facilities to labourers. The medical facilities are being expanded in Panipat, Jhajjar, Bhiwani and Faridabad, said he.
