Collector steps in to contain jaundice outbreak

Collector Thakur Ram Singh on Friday reviewed the remedial steps taken to check outbreak of water borne diseases and jaundice in the city and directed the officers to collect samples and organise health camps in the affected areas. In a meeting with the officers of RMC, Health department and Public Health Engineering department, Singh directed the officers to clean and chlorinate the water supply sources and repair the damaged systems. He asked the officers of health department to continue with screening of people and provide appropriate treatment to the infected people.

The officers informed him that health camps are being organised in different areas of the city including Heerapur, Sanjay Nagar and Adarsh Nagar. Officers of Public Health Engineering informed that they have detected no problem in the drinking water samples collected so far. RMC Zone -2 Commissioner informed that pipeline has been replaced and the potholes have been removed from Anurag Nagar according to requirement.

Similarly contamination was detected in some areas of zone-6 and proper chlorination and bleaching was done. The work of replacement of pipeline in Heerapur is going on.
