A meeting organised in Boudh district on behalf of the Government virtually turned into a BJD campaign meeting as no Government officer was allowed to share the dais with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to speak on the projects, which were executed or to be executed under their supervision.
The meeting was held at Kharasankulei in Dhalapur gram panchayat where the Chief Minister laid foundation-stone for a second bridge over the Mahanadi. Besides the Chief Minister, Agriculture Minister Pradeep Maharthy, Energy Minister Pranab Prakash Das, Finance Minister Pradip Amat, Kandhamal MP Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh, Kantamal MlA Mahidhar Rana and many other BJD leaders occupied the dais. Besides, a number of other BJD leaders were seen standing on the platform.
On the other hand, Government officers like RDC (Southern) Sailendra Narayan Dey, Boudh district Collector Madhusudan Mishra, ADM Suman Behera, DRDA PD Drubaraj Pandey, Sub-Collector Srikant Tarai and BDOs kept sitting in front of the dais. Minister Maharathy slammed media representatives, stating that they are not reporting on achievements of the State Government.
local MlA and Finance Minister Amat announced that the Government would construct Marjakuda setu and a bypass road at Boudh if the Centre doesn’t do it in six months’ time. The Chief Minister laid foundation-stones for 18 projects and also inaugurated four projects during his visit.
