Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will discuss framing of long-term policy for agriculture with experts during Krishi Manthan at Academy of Administration here on October 31. National level agriculture experts and members of Madhya Pradesh Task Force will read out papers on making agriculture profitable.
The first session of Krishi Manthan will begin with address of the Chief Minister on progress made and challenges in agriculture sector during last 10 years. Besides, Principal Secretary Agriculture Rajesh Rajora will air views on ‘Condition and New Dimensions in Agriculture Sector’, Coordinator of CGIAR, New Delhi PK Agrawal on ‘Smart Agriculture’, Vardas, Director National Centre of Oilseed Research, Hyderabad on ‘Increase in Soybean Productivity and Future Alternatives’ and MS Virani, former Team leader ICRISTI, Hyderabad on ‘Water Management System in Water Deficient Areas’.
On the second day of Krishi Manthan, papers will be read out by Chief Scientists of Indian Institute of Soil Science AK Vishwas on ‘Soil Health and Coordinated Nutrients and Management’, Director, Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University Jabalpur DK Rao on ‘Ways to Increase Productivity of Pulses Crops’, Chairman of ASRB in Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi Gurbachan Singh on ‘Integrated Development of Horticulture, Agriculture and Forestry’, former Deputy Director General of Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi VK Taneja on ‘Possibilities of Animal Husbandry and Dairy in Agriculture’, RK Patil of Central Post Harvest Engineering and Technology Institute, ludhiana and Dr Rajendra Singh of Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi will read out their papers on ‘Crop Cutting Experiment and Food Processing’. At the conclusion, members of Task Force Punjab Singh, Ashok Gulati and Gyanendra Singh will also speak. The Chief Minister will conclude the programme.
