Chief Minister Raghubar Das issued stern warnings to government officials and adopted tough stand against erring babus while disposing people’s problems in the last ‘Jan Samvad’ of the year today as he ordered suspension of one official and an inquiry against another government official.
Das emphasised on grievance redressal through mechanisms installed by the State government and requested officials to become pro-active in solving people’s problems. Notably, around 40,611 complaints have been lodged with the “Jan Samvad’ cell of which nearly 22,770 cases are pending.
“A lot of work has to be done. So, I would request all deputy commissioners and superintendent of police to pay attention to problems registered at 181 and find a solution to those problems,” said Das.
As many as 20 complaints were disposed of by the CM during the last ‘Jan Samvad’ programme with specific instructions to district administrations. Anguished at the charge of corruption, Das ordered inquiry against a Junior Engineer of electricity department posted in lohardaga as he also reprimanded deputy commissioner of the district in connection with the charge of poor quality of toilets constructed in 2011-12.
“Go there and enquire the matter personally. Forming team and issuing orders won’t help. Action must be visible on ground,” asserted Das in connection with the complaint of poor quality of toilets.
Acting tough against the charges of bribe made against Circle Officer of Nirsa, the CM offered assistance to the complainant and directed the deputy commissioner of Dhanbad to trap the official harassing the complainant. Fearing backlash, the complainant sought anonymity in the complaint related to illegal construction on a piece of land in Nirsa block of Dhanbad which incidentally was earmarked for construction of shops for footpath vendors.
“Take money from me and expose that person with the help of anti-corruption bureau,” added Das.
In a corruption charge against officials of the education department and delinquency of duty by government officials at Pakur, the CM reiterated the stand that such erring babus will not be allowed to have their way and corrupt officials have no place in Jharkhand.
While lending ear to a complaint against banks’ lukewarm approach to sanctioning loans to people in need, the CM categorically remarked that the banks must not deny loans to people who need it. Das said that he has received complaints regarding problems in the disbursement of loans under ‘Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna’ and requested banks to adopt a compassionate attitude towards people of the State.
“I am getting a lot of complaints regarding Mudra Yojna. So, I am planning to sit with banks on this issue,” signed off the CM.
