Punjab Government on Friday asked the State Agriculture and Cooperative Departments to keep a strict vigil on distribution of urea by dealers and cooperative societies to check its hoarding. The instructions to this effect have been issued by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.The concerned officers have been directed to conduct surprise checks so that hoarding and resulting panic in farmers is checked.
Taking a serious view of media reports suggesting missing of trucks laden with urea in Muktsar district, the Chief Minister passed strict instructions to Muktsar Senior Superintendent of Police to investigate the case and take strict action against those involved in illegal activity
