Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's Japan visit opened on a positive note with the promise of investment to the tune of Rs15,000 crore.
The Chief Minister met senior executives of key trade institutions and organisations in Tokyo on Tuesday. The investment will help implement ambitious projects in energy, rural drinking water supply, Metro rail projects and establishment of Japanese Industrial Township in the State. Chief Minister Chouhan also got assurance of increase in Japanese investment in the State.
The CM held discussions with the Vice President of Japan International Cooperation Agency Hideaki Domichi. The discussions about the areas of investment led to an agreement for investment of about Rs5,000 crore for Bhopal-Indore Metro rail project,
electricity transmission operations, energy development and rural drinking water supply projects.
Japan External Trade Minister Organisation's senior officials promised to support an ambitious project for establishment of Japanese Industrial Township and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the same.
Chouhan also met the CEO of Japan Bank for International Cooperation. He assured cooperation to encourage Japanese investors to invest in Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister's visit evoked a good response among Japanese business community. He explained the reasons for investment in Madhya Pradesh. He said that Madhya Pradesh has emerged as an ideal investment destination and warmly welcomes the Southeast Asian companies in different sectors.
