The folk singing and Chhattisgarghi dances made the Tuesday evening of the theatre buffs of the city.
The Chhattisgarh mahotsav was all about folk performances and dances on the fourth day of the fest. The event is being organised at Antarang Hall, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal.
The event here on Tuesday began with the performances by Nagin Tanveer and her troupe. She began her
performance with the series of folk singing.
She performed sohar, bihag, chhua, prem geet and dewar. Her melodious voice and flawless expressions made the evening. She created an ambiance of tuneful eve at the Antarang Hall that was
much enjoyed by the music lovers of the city.
It is to be noted that Nagin Tanveer is the daughter of the noted theatre personality Habib Tanvir. later, the enchanting performances were followed with the performance by Ram Dayal Manjhi. They perfo4rmed various folk dances of Chhattisgarh leaving the audience enthralled at the hall. The music instruments used in the dances were also a major point of attraction. The music was played live that made the performance even more zestful.
later the performances were taken to a hike with the performance by Bharati Rajput’s classical singing. She sang the Raga Malhar which was a mesmerizing performance. later she also sang some of the compositions of Kumar Gandharv that made the audience listen to her performance with rapt performance.
Then the series of performances on Tuesday evening were concluded with the Pandwani lok geet by Malti Singh. She sang the ‘Krishna ko Yudh Nyota’. Here she performed the whole incident where lord Krishna gets the invitation for Mahabharata.
