Chhattisgarh Government has announced an assistance of Rs5 crore for carrying out relief and rehabilitation work in Nepal, which has seen a heavy damage of life and property due to the devastating earthquake. All the 91 members of Chhattisgarh legislative Assembly will also contribute their one month's salary for the cause, an official statement from State Public Relations Department here said.
According to the information, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal and the leader of Opposition in the Assembly TS Singhdeo have gave their consent for the same. "Thousands of people died and injured in the recent earthquake in Nepal. It is our social and moral responsibility on humanitarian grounds to help the affected families," the Chief Minister quoted in a statement.
Moreover, Singh has also appealed to Government and Non-Government employees associations, industrial associations and social service organisations to come forward to extend help to the earthquake victims.
