The Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) has achieved a major milestone with the re-building of its Coke Oven Battery Number 9 . BSP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) S Chandrasekaran lighted up the battery in the presence of senior officers of the plant and representatives of different agencies involved in the project here.
ED (Works) YK Degan, In-charge ED (Projects) SB Jagdale, GM In-charge (CO&CCD) PR Deshmukh, GM (Projects-Coke Zone) SK Ghosh, GM In-charge (Projects-Steel) D Chaudhuri and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
The mammoth job of refractory erection, structural work and other jobs involved in making the battery ready for heating up were executed under the leadership of DGM In-charge (Projects-Coke Zone) DN Swamy with DGM (Proj-Coke) DK Dewangan as Project Manager along with a team from Proj-Coke Zone including DGM PK Chaddar, Senior Manager Ashish Gupta, deputy managers Sagar Sahu, SK Chourasiya and Narang.
DGM (R&M) and key driver Rajiv Shrivastava coordinated the entire activity along with his team from Coke Ovens & Coal Chemicals Department, comprising AGM Pushpa Ambrose, DGMs Tarun Kanrar and SR Choudhury. The team members from EMD, Coke Oven lab and Fire Station extended their support and facilitated in achieving the milestone.
Necessary and timely support was extended by CET, the consultant for the project. The contractor for this work was MECON and the activities were carried out under the leadership of GM (MECON) KR Palchoudhuri and the team comprising DGM and Project Manager Jitendra Kumar, AGM JK Patra, senior manager P Bhattacharya and senior DE RG Sangode.
