After getting assurance from the East Coast Railway (ECoR), residents of Ankuli industrial area in the city on Saturday decided to postpone their previous decision to stage Rail Roko on June 2 demanding functioning of a passenger halt at Ankuli.
The Silpanchal Passenger Halt Sangram Samiti (SPHSS), which had taken the rail rok decision, said its members were invited by the Khordha DRM to discuss about the issue.
Officials of the DRM Office including ADRM SK Choudhury, DCM Tribikram Mishra and CCI KM Pasayat said the Samiti members that a technical team would visit the spot to examine the area for passenger halt.
Samiti members including Brahmapur Municipal Corporation (BMC) Deputy Mayor Jyotsna Nayak, SPHSS president Panchanan Choudhury, convener Umacharan Nayak, secretary Abani Gaya and spokesperson Brundaban Sabat went with the delegation to discuss with the railway officials.
