Three persons went missing in seawater as a Paradip-based mechanised fishing boat, Shrikshetra -5, capsised at the Mahanadi confluence near Nehru Bungalow on Monday due to sea current.The boat carrying seven crew members was returning from the sea after catching fish when the mishap occurred. Crew members of another boat, Shrikshetra, which was on its way into the sea, could manage to rescue four persons only. Three crew members were still missing.
Meanwhile, five to six trawlers have been engaged in search operation, informed KK Ray, a member of the Paradip Trawler Owners’ Association.The three missing fishermen are Kailash Parida, Kathia Majhi and Madhabananda Parida of Tihidi locality in Bhadrak district.The four rescued persons, who also belong to Tihidi were undergoing treatment in the Paradip CHC, informed Ray.
