With unscheduled power cuts mostly thanks to local faults continuing to hit normal life here. Snags developing in the 220 KV voltage transformer at Haldwani’s Kamaluwaganja plunged Haldwani city and its adjoining rural areas into darkness late Sunday night. The transformer stopped functioning around 11 pm and it took the officials about two hours to put things on tracks. Amid soaring temperature, humidity added to the woes of the citizens following the power breakdown on Sunday night. The angry locals came down heavily on the power department officials as well as the State Government for the frequent disruptions in power supply. They threatened to start stir if things do not improve soon.
local faults and tripping seem to be the main reasons behind power outages, the power department officials said.The suffering continued even on Monday as power remained disrupted in different parts of Haldwani city, including, Kathghriya, Gaolapaar, Kaladhungi Road, Kushum Khera, RK Tent House Road, Pushp Vihar and Gasgodam Road.
