On the proposal of Home and Jail Minister Babulal Gaur, BHEl administration will install ‘common meters’ in slum areas under its jurisdiction. Gaur held discussions on traffic arrangements and development works in the city at his residence here on Friday.
Former Mayor Krishna Gaur, SP Anil Maheshwari, Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation GP Mali and officers of police, administration, BHEl and railways attended the meeting.
Gaur directed to ensure permanent solution to electricity supply problem in BHEl area’s localities Rajiv Nagar, Indira Nagar, Ekta Nagar, Vishwakarma Nagar, Jai Hind Nagar, Bird Sanctuary, Azad Nagar etc. In this context, BHEl administration offered to install ‘common meters’. MPEB, BHEl administration and local public representatives will discuss the issues with residents of localities and form groups of 10 persons each with a ‘common meter’. All consumers of the group will pay the bill jointly.
Discussions were held with Railway officers for development of road from platform number 6 of railway station upto Alpana trisection and outflow of water from under-bridges at Subhash Nagar, Rachna Nagar, Chhola and Habibganj. Directives were given for joint action by traffic police, Railways and Municipal Corporation.
Gaur said that expansion of shops on roads causes difficulties to people. Such encroachments should not be allowed in markets. Municipal Corporation and traffic police should remove such encroachments through a drive within a week.
He directed to strictly curb trade of sand, cement and stones on roads. Directives were given to remove furniture shops on Hoshangabad Road. Gaur said that along with action against enrichment, materials should also be confiscated.
