Senior Government officials on Thursday visited Khunti to review around 100 schemes pending for years and work out revival plan for the schemes that was going nowhere due to lingering investigation processes.
The team led by Principal Secretary, Finance, Amit Khare finally agreed on mounting efforts to rescue 55 schemes suffocating in the investigating agency’s corridor.
The delegation of Government functionaries examined 99 schemes that could not achieve its goal in years including the 55 schemes put under lens after FIR was lodged in connection with the as many number of schemes.
“Chief Minister’s secretariat wanted to know how many schemes are pending in the state so this review meeting has been called in the wake of the instruction issued by the secretariat. Government’s main objective is to complete pending schemes,” said Khare.
The visiting delegation shared the formula for revival which envisages taking schemes that achieved 80 per cent of the milestones on priority basis and putting up schemes for the consideration of the Government where the progress is between 60-80 per cent. Schemes which did not register any progress will be shelved to shift focus on the rest of the schemes. The delegation expressed that the schemes that hit deadlock because of vigilance cases would be revived through a special plea.
“Government will consult Assistant Public Prosecutor to take advice on approaching vigilance court to seek revival of the schemes under its consideration on grounds of larger public interest attached with the projects,” added Khare.
The high-level delegation also discussed state of panchayat buildings and suggested the idea of using buildings complete in all respect to extend support in imparting skill enhancement training to youngsters of rural areas.
The delegation included Secretary, Social Welfare, Women and Child Development; Vinay Kumar Choubey; State Project Director, JEPC, Hans Raj Singh; Director, Directorate of Panchayati Raj, Shivendra Singh among others.
Around 2300 projects are pending in various stages of its lifecycle in the State thus putting the Government to initiate a fact finding exercise to take a call on those projects, said a source in the Khunti district administration.
