The land consolidation awareness conference under the banner of Garib Kranti movement concluded in block Beerokhal, a remote area of Pauri district. The villager and their representatives attended it in large number.A leader of the movement, Ganesh Garib stressed that if land consolidation was not done in the State, particularly in the mountainous districts, the long-continuing trend of migration would gain further momentum in the coming days. He appealed to the gram pradhans, members of Chatraya Panchayats, Zila Panchayats to come forward to make the people aware of the urgency land consolidation in every village. “Villagers’ cooperation is a must for things being led to the logical conclusion,” he said.
Elaborating the benefit of the land consolidation, Garib said that Uttarakhand would see development in tune with the possibility loaded in it only through land consolidation.After Independence, many States have adopted land consolidation and they had seen enormous progress in the quantum of agricultural yields. Block Pramukh Beerokhal Dayal Singh Bisht (75) said that a resolution on land consolidation will be sent to Uttarakhand Government.Horticulture Specialist (Haldwani) Kewala Nand Tiwari said that after a right horticulture policy is formulated the state would come in the category of other states like Himachal Pradesh in terms of production of fruits to be supplied elsewhere.
