Aspirants write CAT exam in 6 cities in State

Hundreds of students appeared at the Common Admission Entrance (CAT)-2015 in State on Sunday. The examination was held at in six locations in the State, Baleswar, Brahmapur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela and Sambalpur.

In Bhubaneswar, students appeared at nine centres

The all-India entrance was conducted in 650 centres in 136 cities this year as against in 99 cities comprising 354 test centres last year.

As many as 2,18,664 students, across 136 cities, in India appeared for the test for admission into 19 IIMs, including newly-established IIM-Sambalpur. The examination comprising two sittings began at 9 am.

While the first sitting was held from 9 am to 12 noon the second sitting began at 2 pm and 5 pm.

This year, a new format was introduced for the entrance test which was conducted by IIM-Ahmedabad. As per the newly introduced format, candidates appeared both the multiple choice and non-multiple choice questions. There would also be negative marking for every wrong answer to multiple choice questions.

Results would be announced in the second week of January.
