leader of Haryana Congress legislature Party (ClP) Kiran Choudhry on Monday asked Chief Minister Manohar lal to impress upon the Centre to make the Food Corporation of India (FCI) reverse its decision and enter the mandis (grain markets) of Haryana to procure wheat in the marketing season starting April 1.
In a communication to CM, the former Excise and Taxation Minister has apprised him of the strong sentiments of the farmers of Haryana, a cross-section of which she met after the Budget Session of the Vidhan Sabha. The farmers whose wheat crop was flattened by the unseasonal rain and hailstorms, are now worried about marketing whatever little produce they will be left with, after the FCI decision not to enter the mandis for procuring wheat, she pointed out.
