The Apna Dal has issued an appeal asking all political parties and littérateurs to stop debate on intolerance issue as it was maligning the image of India overseas.
Party's spokesperson R B Singh Patel said in a statement issued here on Sunday that there was no word like intolerance in Indian culture. “Some political parties had raised this issue for their vested interest. Where is intoleranceIJ Hindu and Muslim live in peace and harmony. Their campaign has given a bad name to India overseas and we should stop debate on this immediately,” he said.
Patel said that union government has done a lot of developmental work during the last 18 months. “When other countries are now willing to support India for its claim on permanent seat in UN Security Council this debate was uncalled for,” he said.
Apna Dal leader also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had presented a very powerful and good image of our country in the world. All parties should support him, he said and added that schemes like Swatchch Bharat and Jan Dhan Yojana have extended a social umbrella for the poor and downtrodden.
Patel also condemned the statement of Jammu and Kashmir's former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah who claimed that PoK should remain with Pakistan.and said that such statement discourages our soldiers who are on high alert 24x7 so that we can sleep in peace.
