Congress Deputy leader in lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh on Sunday led a party protest against booking five party workers for an attempt to murder charge after their confrontation with the police. Capt Amarinder claimed that the activists had been “implicated” by the SAD leaders.
“let me make it clear once again that we will not only hold you accountable, we will ensure that you will also regret and repent what you did to our people,” he said while addressing a dharna organised by PPCC vice-president Gurpreet Singh Kangar.
Five Congress workers were booked for an attempt to murder on August 17, after a clash between them and police at Dialpura Bhaika village near Rampura on August 16.
Five people from Dialpura and Maluka and three policemen were injured in the clash.
Capt Amarinder claimed that local MlA and Cabinet Minister Sikander Singh Maluka had crossed all limits to abusing his power and will have to face consequences.
