All vacant MBBS seats in Government and private medical colleges in the State were filled up during the spot admission here on Tuesday, sources in the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) said.
While all vacant BDS seats in Government medical colleges were also filled up, 58 BDS seats were vacant in private medical colleges of which admission in 25 vacant seats would be held on the basis of special OJEE on Wednesday, the sources added.
Spot admission to vacant BDS seats in private medical colleges would be conducted on the basis of the special OJEE held on September 27 following High Court’s orders, informed OJEE officials.
All vacant seats were filled up on the basis of AIPMT rankings. However, only 25 students have qualified in the special OJEE, officials added.
Notably, two MBBS seats each in SCB Medical College, Cuttack and MKCG Medical College, Brahmapur had remained vacant after the third round of counselling. Besides, 38 MBBS seats were lying vacant in the privately-run Hi-Tech Medical College, Bhubaneswar.
Moreover, 16 BDS seats in SCB Medical College and 73 BDS seats in Hi-Tech Medical College had remained vacant before spot admissions.
