Amidst the uproar by the Congress party over the deaths of MPPEB scam accused in different jails, the State Government on Monday came out with a clarification stating that most of the accused died of illness.In an official statement, the Government claimed that since the first case was registered in connection with the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) on July 7, 2013, 25 persons have died. So far, 55 cases have been registered in this regard.Out of 2500 accused involved in MPPEB scam, necessary action has already been taken against 2000 accused and have been arrested. Out of these 2500 accused, the death of 14 accused is reported since July 7, 2013.
As many as 11 accused died prior to the registration of case on July 7 at Rajendra Nagar Police Station, Indore, while four accused died outside the State of Madhya Pradesh, whose deaths were duly investigated by the Police of respective states and they have not found any conspiracy in their death till date.Further, from the date of registration of case, in total 14 deaths of accused involved in MPPEB sam are reported, out of which six are reported on account of accident, two on account of suicide and six on account of various diseases.
Eight deaths on account of death and suicide are been investigated by the respective Police Stations and the report has already been furnished before High Court. In these report also, no conspiracy was found in their death. Besides, before and after registration of case, out of the death of these 25 accused, none of the family member of 24 accused have informed or complained to State Government or STF or SIT or High Court that death was caused in furtherance of some conspiracy or was unnatural.
The government stated that as far as the death of Narendra Singh Tomar on June 28 is concerned, it is a fact that he had cardiac problem and was admitted in ICU of MY Hospital, where during treatment he unfortunately died. It is also being duly investigated. The Status Report pertaining to the death of 25 accused involved in MPPEB Scam has already been filed before the High Court which is being monitored by the High Court.
