BJP MP from Rajnandgaon Abhishek Singh has termed Nirdhan Kanya Vivah Yojana a boon for poor families under which the State Government arranges marriages of adult girls. Singh while addressing a gathering during a mass marriage function organised here at Ambagarh Chowki, expressed satisfaction that a large number of families have been benefited by the scheme in the State so far. He claimed that State Government has always worked for the welfare of the poor and farmers hence the scheme has been launched to benefit the poor. Singh extended his good wishes to the newly married couples. He also spoke about the ‘ready to eat’ scheme of Woman and Child Development department to provide nutritious diet to the pregnant women and malnourished children. During the function, Singh who is the lone son of Chief Minister Raman Singh, asked people to maintain the cleanliness in and around their houses as a part of Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan.
