AAP: Yadav's Haryana loyalists next to get booted?

Tuesday, 31 March 2015 | Bhupinder Sharma | Chandigarh

After shunting out Yogendra Yadav from Aam Aadmi Party’s apex decision making body, it is the turn for Yadav’s loyalists to face the music in Haryana. The party is planning to revamp the State unit soon in which the supporters of Yadav are expected to get the boot. Naveen Jaihind, National Executive Member of Aam Aadmi Party said, “The party would soon overhaul the State unit, to strengthen the organisation in Haryana”.

Jaihind was here in Chandigarh on Monday, to take part in the 100 km cycle rally from ludhiana to Chandigarh to spread awareness against VIP culture in Punjab. The rally was led by HS Phoolka a senior advocate and senior leader of AAP from ludhiana (Punjab).

Jaihind and Yadav who were at loggerheads in Haryana ever since the party was founded, said AAP will get strengthened now. A staunch opponent of Yadav, Jaihind, added, “it was Yadav who intentionally damaged and weakened the party in the State”.

Jaihind, from Rohtak targeted Yadav for his self-centered and dictatorial approach and he had also put forth his views in the national executive meet before Arvind Kejriwal, but it was not entertained at that time.

Jaihind said, “Yadav sidelined those committed volunteers of party, who played a major role in streamlining the party and had also taken an active part in the Anna Hazare movement in Delhi. Moreover, he adjusted his own yes-men on key posts and put these volunteers under them, hence party had lost around 50 per cent their participation thereafter”.

Both remained at distance even during the parliamentary elections. He even didn’t take part in Yadav’s ‘Jai Kisan Abhiyan’ campaign in Haryana. “Even in the parliamentary elections, Yadav had played dirty politics by distributing MP tickets to his men and party got a humiliating defeat. It was conveyed to the Kejriwal”, claimed Jaihind. After Yadav's exit, Jahihind has actively started taking part in party activities. He took part in neighbouring State Punjab’s cycle rally on Monday.

For party overhauling, Jaihind said “Very soon the party would start channelising committed party volunteers to strengthen the party in State”.  It would focus on various cells including students, youths, women, laborers, farmers, and unemployed persons etc. to strengthening the organisation.

He said after shunting Yadav out from apex body, all the demoralised but committed volunteers of party have started warming up for the state unit and regarding all such issues decision would be taken in the national executive soon. He added that the said party would soon restart membership drive in the State.
