AAP supporters allege assault near MP house

In a bizarre incident a group of AAP supporters were allegedly assaulted by BJP activists near the residence of Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto at Q Road in Bistupur on Monday morning .According to the AAP activists, they had gone with prior permission to lodge their protest against the BJP leaders, tainted on charges of corruption recently and demanding removal from Centre through Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto for sacking Vasundhara Raje, Smrita Irani and Sushma Swaraj.
 
AAP activists alleged that at the direction of Jamshedpur MP, youth BJP activists sitting at the premises started assaulting them. Three of activists including two women were injured in the incident.Those who have been injured include Durga Agarwal, Usha Mukhi and Samar Kundu (left leg) who were discharged later in the evening from MGM Medical College and Hospital.
 
The AAP activists then assembled at the district collectorate and sat on a dharne for nearly an hour against Jamshedpur MP.“ It is really shocking incident and we want justice. We had assembled near the Voltas Roundabout in Bistupur at around 11 am and marched to Q Road and started protesting in front of the residence-cum-office of Jamshedpur MP at Qr. No. 208 in Bistupur and all of a sudden the Jamshedpur MP came to meet us and the activists started abusing us,” said AAP spokesperson Sumant Choudhary.
 
“We have lodged a complaint with the Bistupur police station and also with the East Singhbhum SSP Anoop T Mathew. They have assured to investigate the case,” said AAP activist Sumant Choudhary.Meanwhile, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto’s city representative Sanjiv Kumar rubbished the manhandling or assault story. “We were sitting and during this time there is a crowd of people waiting to meet Jamshedpur MP. All of a sudden these AAP activists came on the road and started shouting slogans,” said Sanjiv.
 
Bistupur police station OC Jitender Kumar said that AAP activists were directed to lodge a complaint at the Bistupur police station and that action would be taken only after investigation into the case.
