AAP is a pack of lies, contradictions: Harsimrat

Monday, 31 August 2015 | PNS | Bathinda

Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Badal on Sunday termed Aam Aadmi Party as a pack of lies and a party of contradictions.

“AAP has woven in image around simplicity and austerity and it is the same party whose every leader is embroiled in a controversy,” said Harsimrat while interacting with the media persons during her Bathinda visit, where she listened to the people’s problems and resolved them.

She said that the AAP leaders have lost their base in masses and parties like it are “opportunists”.

“In Punjab, AAP has managed to mislead people once, but the same would not be repeated. AAP has split up in Punjab as there is no workmanship in the leaders and cadre alike,” she said adding that AAP does not even consider it good enough to maintain good relations with its MP.

“AAP has been shredded into pieces in Punjab. Congress and AAP will got strangulated under the burden of own dissidence and people of Punjab will again bring SAD-BJP government,” she said.

Answering a media query on problems of sugarcane farmers, the Union Minister said that the Chief Minister has already passed directives to give relief to the sugarcane farmers within a week.

“The basic problem of sugarcane is great disparity between the prices of sugarcane and sugar. In India, the sugarcane industry is reeling under crisis, but the condition of Punjab sugar mills is much better than country,” she said.

Union Minister also met residents of various wards in the city and listened to their problems. She said that the government was committed to bring in development in every aspect by providing proper drinking water and sewer facilities, best road infrastructure, public centric services in time bound manner.

Harsimrat especially interacted with women, and many of them expressed their earnest desire to set up their own small business establishments, which enables them to work for home as well as raise their kids.

She encouraged them to turn their talent into entrepreneurship. “To facilitate small talents to grow into businesses, Narendra Modi led NDA government has Mudra Bank, which enables even the smallest of traders to borrow and payback loan easily,” she said.

Harsimrat added that the food processing sector held great promise for the women who made tasty chutneys, pickles and other food products. Already a food processing incubation centre has been opened in collaboration with Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) wherein women can get trained in few days and start their own small business units.
