96 illicit IMFl bottles seized

The Bhopal crime branch seized 96 bottles of India- Made Foreign liquor (IMFl) while illegally being transported by five youths in Jehangirabad area on Friday. Police said a raid was conducted after a tip off that few persons were trying to smuggle illegal liquor at Jehangirabad area.  In all five persons were arrested with the illegal liquors in a car bearing registration number MP20 C 8918.

The miscreants were identified as Dev Karan Ambaram (30), Virendra Singh (32), Rajesh Singh Yadav (32), Dileep Salve (30 and Sandeep Kanade (18). Dev Karan Ambaram works as electrician, Virendra Singh is employed at a liquor shop, while Rajesh Jathav is an auto-rickshaw driver. Dileep Salve works as painter and Sandeep Kanade is a student with a private college.

Police said the nabbed accused would be questioned regarding the purchase of liquor above the permissible limit and where the liquor was scheduled to be delivered. Other possibilities would be investigated. Reason behind the collection of liquor in big quantity could not be revealed and would be investigated. It is more likely that the liquor was bought for distributing before the elections.

Meanwhile, a waiter of a hotel was nabbed with two boxes of beer from MP Nagar by crime branch Bhopal. Police said that the nabbed accused works as a waiter with Vatika hotel and was identified as Vinod Bhoj. The investigation regarding the purchase of beer bottles would be conducted told the police. Action against the nabbed accused would be taken.
