Eight deaths have been reported due to swine flu in Haryana. So far, 29 positive cases of swine flu have been reported of which eight are from Faridabad, seven from Gurgaon, five from Hisar, two each from Jind, Karnal and Sirsa, and one each from Rohtak, Fatehabad and Jhajjar.The state Health Department has directed all the Civil Surgeons to call a meeting with IMA and do IEC activity in their districts and report daily to State Surveillance Unit. Also, directions have been issued to private hospitals to strictly follow the guidelines regarding swine flu.
A spokesperson of the Health Department said that the Department has geared up for surveillance, prevention, identification, testing, isolation and treatment of case of influenza A H1N1.Isolation wards have been established in all the districts and ventilator facility is made available after tie up with private hospitals and adequate stock of Oseltamivir is being ensured at all times. 24 x 7 monitoring is being done at the levels by state Health Department.
