3,987 Bangladeshi infiltrators staying in State: Naveen

There are 3,987 infiltrators staying in the State and all of them are from Bangladesh as per the latest survey, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed the Assembly on Monday.The Chief Minister said this in a written reply to a question put by Member Dilip Kumar Ray (BJP).

Stating that the State Government has been in communication with the Centre for taking action against such infiltrators, Patnaik said highest number of 1,649 infiltrators have been staying in Kendrapada district followed by 1,112 in Jagatsinghpur.

Other districts where such infiltrators have been identified are Malkangiri (655), Bhadrak (313), Baleswar (150), Nabarangpur (106) and Baragarh (2), Patnaik said, adding that only Indian citizens have been named in the voters list.
