A 32-year-old man was attacked with sharp edged weapon near a liquor shop under Shahpura police station area on Tuesday. The victim was attacked in his stomach after he refused to provide for liquor to the accused.
According to the police, at around 10.30 pm when the victim Madan lal was closing his shop, the accused Ramswaroop alias Ram Jathav arrived and asked the victim to provide money for liquor and on victim’s refusal, he attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon.
Victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and was later referred to Bansal hospital where his condition is reportedly critical and is undergoing treatment at the ICU. A complaint was lodged with the Shahpura police and in the complaint, the victim claimed that after he refused to serve liquor, he was attacked by the accused and was stabbed in his stomach by a sharp-edged weapon.
The victim Madan lal owns a mobile shop in Chhawani Shahpura area and was acquainted with the accused, who used to visit the area frequently. Police have not found any crime record of the accused and have told that the crime record would be searched.
Police were informed and on the receipt of the information, police team reached the spot, but the accused managed to escape. The accused was later nabbed by the police while he was trying to escape from his residence in Chawani Shahpura. After the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 294, 327 and 307 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
