A 31-year old married woman committed suicide by jumping into the Sarangpani pond under Piplani police station area on Friday. The deceased was suffering from depression, according to a suicide note recovered.
According to police Archana Singh was found dead at Saranpani pond in the morning hours after she was spotted by a local.
Investigating Officer ASI SK Chouhan said that the deceased used to remain depressed for the past few days as claimed by family members and same has been found in the suicide note. Her husband told the police that at around 9 am he left for job but as he was aware that his wife was suffering from depression he used to check her whereabouts and when he returned at around 10.15 am the deceased was found missing.
At around 11.30 am a local fisherman informed Piplani police regarding a floating body and on the receipt police team reached the spot and later in the investigation the deceased was identified as Archana Singh, he added.
The police after preliminary investigation sent the body for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
Meanwhile a 35-year-old man committed suicide by cutting his wrist at Teelajamalpura area in the early morning hours; deceased was suffering from cancer.
According to the police the deceased Mohammad Anees cut his wrist to commit suicide on Friday.
Father of deceased informed the police at around 8 am regarding the death of Anees. A case was registered under section 174 of the CrPC and further investigations were started.
