21 clerks, 2 junior auditors promoted
Chandigarh: Haryana Health Department has promoted 21 Clerks and two junior auditors working in the office of Director General Health Services as Officiating Assistant. A spokesman said that among the clerks who have been promoted included Raj Bahadur, Satish Kumar, Dinesh, Suman Rani, Amit, Yashpal, Kanta Kumari, Renu, Priti, Pooja Singla, Rajni Bala, Pooja Kapoor, Somi Devi, Dheeraj Jangra, Tripta, Maninder Singh, Surender Kumar, Rinku, Vickky, Karamvir Singh and Jitender. Similarly, the junior auditors who have been promoted included Manish Anand and Jyoti Hooda.

IAOHNS conference begins
Chandigarh: The two days 2nd annual conference of Indian Academy of Otorhinolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery (IAOHNS) organised by the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, PGIMER commenced on Friday with Instructional Courses on Sialendoscopy, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Research Methodology, Endoscopic Ear Surgery and Robotic Tongue base Tumor Resection. The focus of the Plenary Sessions were on Stapedotomy, Nasal Endoscopy, Sudden Sensorineural Hearing loss, External Ear and Middle Ear Reconstructive Surgeries, Migraine associated Vertigo, Guidelines and Management of Thyroid and Parathyroid diseases, Auditory Implants, Medico-legal issues and Innovations and Challenges in laryngology & Head & Neck Surgeries. lieutenant General GS Shergill retires
Chandigarh/lucknow: lieutenant General GS Shergill, retired on Friday after 38 years of glorious service and challenging assignments across the country. Commissioned in June 1977 in 8 Sikh, lt Gen Shergill has been a dexterous commander and leader with extensive experience and notable contributions at tactical, operational and strategic levels in operational and logistic planning and execution. He has also made noteworthy contributions in Human Resource Management and technology assimilation and implementation at all levels of the Army. As Chief of Staff, HQ Central Command, in the last two years, lt Gen Shergill has given a facelift to the entire lucknow Cantonment with special emphasis on the Command HQ complex and its institutions like the Smritika War Memorial, Surya Officers Institute, the Officers’ Mess etc.
Medical officer caught while accepting bribe
Chandigarh: Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught red handed Dr Jagjit Singh Sangwan, Medical Officer, Civil Hospital, Jhajjar while accepting illegal gratification of Rs2,000 from lalit Kumar, a resident of Bhati Gate Mohalla, ward no. 13, jhajjare in lieu of issuing a copy of MlR to the complainant who had undergone a medical examination at Civil Hospital, Jhajjar on October 25 in a quarrel case. A spokesman of the Bureau said that a case under section 7 and 13 of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at Bureau Police Station, Rohtak.

Chandigarh: Union Bank organised screening of a short film produced by the Bank under the guidance of Central Vigilance Commission of India. This 22 minutes short film has a theme of “importance of honesty in public life” and has been conceptualised, directed and produced by Union Bank on behalf of the entire Public Sector Financial Institutions. Nitesh Ranjan, Deputy General Manager, Union Bank, said that in today’s time every person has to be vigilant and aware about the happenings around him. IBRO supported school concluded
Chandigarh: International Brain Research Organisation (IBRO) supported school on ‘Mitochondria and Neurodegeneration’ concluded on Friday at Panjab University (PU).
