fifth and sixth accused in gangrape nabbed

Dehradun: In connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman in Mussoorie, the fifth and sixth accused -Mahavir and Anil who were absconding after committing the crime, were arrested in Mussoorie on Tuesday. The accused will be sent to jail after being presented in the court on Wednesday, said SP-City, Ajay Singh.

Other than Mahavir and Anil, four accused- Arjun Rewat Singh, a Mussoorie municipality employee and two home guards — Roshan and Jaipal- allegedly involved in the case are behind bars now.

The woman complainant had registered a complaint and subsequently a case was registered against six unidentified persons in Mussoorie on September 25. The police officer said that the woman complainant, native of Siliguri, West Bengal, had reached Mussoorie to meet her friend. At library Chowk, four persons sitting in a car, took her to a guest house the same evening. Two bike- borne persons who were following the car also reached guest house where all of them allegedly gang raped her. 

 3 DAYS ON, POlICE STIll ClUElESS OF MINOR FUGITIVE

Dehradun: Three days have passed but Dehradun police are clueless about whereabouts of a minor (accused), resident of Nakraunda (Doiwala) who had escaped from the juvenile home, located at Kedarpuram under Nehru Colony Police Station on Sunday morning. The minor was sent to juvenile home after he allegedly murdered his mother in June this year.

Police officer NS Bisht said that teams have been formed and they are working hard to nab the accused. The accused’s father was also questioned about his whereabouts. He was also unaware about the same.  It should be mentioned here that a major security breach was witnessed at juvenile home when the minor had escaped at 6.30 pm on Sunday after deceiving the guards and the staff of the juvenile Centre.

 no headway in Probe into womam’s decomposed body

Dehradun: Police are clueless about the identity of a decomposed body of a woman aged about 35 –years which was recovered from the bushes at Kuthal Gate near Shiv temple area on Mussoorie Road under Rajpur Police Station on September 24. Rajpur police said that teams have been formed and they are investigating the case. Some suspects were questioned. The sketch of the body has been prepared and it has been disseminated at various places.

GOVT ASKS POlICE TO DOlE OUT AWARDS FOR BRAVE COPS

Dehradun:The State Government has ordered the State police to distribute cash prize amounting to Rs5.37 lakh among policemen for whom citizens and well-known persons had announced rewards for their courageous work on various occasions in the state. Around 30 such rewards for policemen have been pending before the state government since 2007. The State DGP BS Sidhu said that regarding this issue, a proposal was sent to the state government recently which was approved. The cash prize would boost the morale of policemen, he added.
