Mayor, TC inspect Birsa bus stand work
Ranchi: Mayor Asha lakra and Town Commissioner Prashant Kumar visited the under-construction Birsa Munda bus terminal at Khadgarha on Tuesday. The Mayor instructed the contractors to speed the construction work and checked the quality of building material being used. Town Commissioner stated that he will be convening a meeting with terminal’s system operators, to ensure better services to the passengers. Areas around the stand will be developed too.
Rs5 lakh snatched at Karamtoli
Ranchi: Two motorcycle-ridden criminals snatched a bag with five lakh rupees in it from Karamtoli on Tuesday. The miscreants, after snatching the money from Upendra Kumar Singh, fled towards Boriya, via Karamtoli Chowk, informed police sources.
World heart day celebrated at Women’s college
Ranchi: The Home Science and Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics department celebrated ‘World Heart Day’ on September 29. The chief guest on this occasion was Dr Sujata Sinha, Principal of Jamshedpur Women’s college. Ranchi: In order to teach photography to several people ‘Rupsi’ a photo club in Ranchi University was started under the guidance of Sushil Ankan and Niranjan Kumar. PG Students can learn various photographic techniques for free of cost in this club.
Programmes to be organised by Yuva Vikas

Seminar on trade union conducted
Ranchi: A seminar was conducted on the issue of Capacity Building in monitoring and reporting the impacts of India-EU on human and social rights at Nagpur. “In the present situation the trade union is getting weaker which need to be sorted out as soon as possible,” said GB Gawde. Ajay Rai from Jharkhand attended the seminar which is being held in Nagpur.
Convention on Right to food held
Ranchi: Addressing a convention on Right to food at Gossner Theological hall on September 29, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Saryu Roy said, “In order to combat malnutrition every individual should be covered under the food security act which will provide food to the people at a nominal price. NGOs must create awareness among people regarding this aspect.”

Ranchi: For better implementation of MGNREGA scheme Tablets PCs were distributed on September 29 by Deputy Development Commissioner Virendra Kumar Singh at Vikash Bhawan in Ranchi. Tablets were distributed among the people associated with MNREGA from 12 districts which will further ease the work.
