CS assures to look into demands of employees
Chandigarh: Sarvesh Kaushal, Chief Secretary Punjab on Tuesday held a detailed meeting to discuss the pending demands of Government employees with the representatives of Punjab & UT Mulazim Sangharsh Committee. Chief Secretary assured the representatives of the Sangharsh Committee that all the genuine demands of the Government employees will be met in due course of time after due deliberations with the Finance department and the concerned departments. For some of the demands, Chief Secretary asked the concerned administrative secretaries to have preliminary meeting with Department of Finance to understand the financial implications so that the cases may be further processed.
80 found absent during a surprise check
Chandigarh: On the directions of the Punjab Chief Secretary, Sarvesh Kaushal, a team headed by special Secretary Protocol conducted a surprise check in Punjab Civil Secretariat-1 and found as many as 80 officers/officials absent from office. A spokesman said Praveen Thind and Rahul Tiwari both IAS were found absent amongst 80 officers from their offices located on 6th, 7th and 8th floors of the Civil Secretariat. Total 38 branches were checked at 9.10 am. 5 officers were absent in Pension policy branch, 4 officials were found absent in branch of local Government, 3 officials each were found absent in branches of Home Department, Expenditure department etc.
Darshan Singh appointed VC Phs Corporation
Chandigarh: Punjab Government has appointed Darshan Singh as the Vice Chairman of the Punjab Health System Corporation. A spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal cleared the file in this regard this morning. The formals orders would be issued shortly.
DC convenes meeting with various Departments
SAS Nagar: Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu on Tuesday directed that to facilitate the residents of SAS Nagar, proper drainage arrangement and disposal plan for rain water should be prepared so that the problem of rain water could be resolved completely. While conducting a meeting with Municipal Commissioner & officials of GMADA, Water Supply & Sanitation, Drains, Sidhu formed a committee of technical officials including officers of the Executive Engineer level and Assistant Commissioner (General) Avneet Kaur was deputed as a nodal officer for the committee, which will conduct site visit of the areas affected with rain water & will prepare detailed plan along with suggestion for disposal of rain water from these areas.
one IPS and 6 PPS officers transferred
Chandigarh: Punjab Government has issued transfer orders of 1 IPS and 6 PPS officers with immediate effect. An official spokesman said that J Elanchazhian, IPS has been posted as ADCP-1, Jalandhar, whereas in PPS officers Kuljit Singh has been posted as ADCP, Special Cell, Amritsar; Rakesh Kumar as SP (H) Mansa, Ranvir Singh as SP (I) Mansa, Paramjit Singh Goraya as SP (I) Patiala, Gursewak Singh as Asstt Comdt 4th IRB, Kapurthala and Gurdeep Singh has been posted as SP (H), Khanna.
Dedicated labs to come up at ATS Valley School
Dera Bassi: ATS Valley School here announced setting up dedicated labs like Maths lab (Jodo Gyan), language lab, Motor labs for pottery and carpentry. Taking a step further to ensure safety of children, the school has introduced cameras inside the classrooms. The school has also installed cameras and GPS systems in its buses even though it has as yet not been mandated by the Punjab Government. The mobile app allows parents to track their child’s bus at any given moment. Female and male attendants will be present in all buses to enhance the safety of our children till they reach their parents.
Postings/transfer orders of 2 IAS officers issued
Chandigarh: In a minor administrative reshuffle, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal gave nod for transfer/postings of two IAS officers of the State. Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Karan Avtar Singh, IAS has been given the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, Punjab, thereby relieving Anurag Verma of this charge. likewise, Excise and Taxation Commissioner Anurag Verma who was having the additional charge of Secretary, Excise and Taxation has also been given the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Excise and Taxation in place of Anurag Aggarwal IAS, who was on leave for training.
‘Dera Bassi will be developed as beautiful city soon’
SAS Nagar: With an objective of making Dera Bassi a beautiful city of Punjab, its multifaceted development will be carried out with proper planning, said Punjab Chief Parliamentary Secretary Industry & Commerce NK Sharma. He said that work for providing street lights worth Rs2.6 crore stands completed 50 % and the remaining work will be completed soon. He said that a new “Dharamshala” worth Rs30 lakh is being constructed at Ram Mandir and besides providing interlocking tiles in the city worth Rs3.50 crore, proper drainage arrangement in view of the coming rainy season, is also being ensured.
Youth Cong protest over discontinuation of stamps
Bhiwani: Taking serious note of stopping of postal stamps of former Prime Ministers late Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, activists of Youth Congress staged a protest and burnt an effigy of I&B Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad here. Activists led by block president Abhijit lal Singh gathered at Nehru park and reached outside post office by protesting through main bazars. They burnt the effigy of Prasad and attempted to lock down post office but presence of police foiled their plans. Abhijit lal Singh told media that it does not behove a ruling centre government to forget the contribution of late prime ministers and stop their postal stamp out of vendetta. They demanded that stamps in name of Congress leaders should be brought back like earlier.
