Training of trainers on life skills concludes

Chandigarh: Chandigarh-based Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sector 12 under the aegis of Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in association with District Institute Education Training (DIET) organised a seven-day long Training of Trainers on life Skills which concluded on Sunday amidst massive participation of regional teachers in leh. Experts from diverse areas facilitated technical sessions on wide range of topics through participatory methodologies. Tanzin Dawa Regional Coordinator, RGNIYD RC Chandigarh said, “This training on life Skills was organised with an aim to produce cadre of Master Trainers who will have the competencies to train others and effectively support students in developing abilities.

workshop on ‘Mind Your Mind’ by Aryans Group

Mohali: Aryans Group of Colleges organised a workshop on ‘Mind Your Mind’ at its campus. Marital Counsellor and Gemologist, Col Gursewak Singh was the key note speaker on the occasion. While delivering the talk Col Gursewak Singh explained beautifully all the aspects related to ‘Human Mind’. He said first we have to understand the theory of the human mind: What is human mind including Conscious and Sub-conscious mindIJ How it functions in conjunctions with our brainIJ How we can use it to enhance our personality to achieve success in life and attain peace of mind, he added.

Raksha bandhan celebrated at Kinder Pillar school

Chandigarh: Kinder Pillar School, Sector 46, celebrated Raksha Bandhan at its campus. little kids prepared beautiful thali for Raksha Bandhan. Children were familiarised with the customs and rituals of the festival. Students represented various regions and communities of India adorning traditional costumes. Tilak ceremony was done by the class teachers. Students were told about the importance of sacred bond of brother and sister. Students also participated in rakhi-making competition and made various kinds of rakhis by experimenting with different materials.

  ACI celebrates success of students

Chandigarh: The Allen Career Institute Chandigarh has celebrated the success of its students by organising a colourful function at JW Marriot hotel in Sector 35 on Sunday. Total 94 medals were given away to the Chandigarh Allen achievers out of which 46 were awarded from PMT and 48 were awarded from IIT JEE MAINS and advanced. The main achievers were Sanchit Gupta who was awarded Rs2 lakh for 10 air in AIPMT (Tricity topper in AIPMT) Yuvraj Chopra Rs1 lakh for AIIMS 11th rank tricity topper.

Rs50,000 was given to Shristi Asthana for getting admission in Princeton University USA on 90 per cent scholarship and Chakshu Goel AIT 27 in JEE MAINS and tricity CBSE topper getting 98.4 per cent marks in boards.

 Employees hold rally; support Sept 2 rally

Chandigarh: large number of the employees under the banner of the Housing Board Supervisory Union staged the protest in support of their demands in Sector 63 here. The leaders while supporting the call of rally to be held by the co ordination committee of MC  and UT employees and workers on September 2 raised the  demands of the Housing Board. They raised the demands to fill up the vacant posts in the CHB like junior engineers and starting the  pension.
