JSCW Mobile Courts in four districts soon

The Jharkhand State Commission for Women (JSCW) will organise mobile session courts in Giridih from June 1 to 2. Similar, courts would be held at Deoghar on June 3. In Dumka and Jamtara the mobile courts will be carried out on June 4 and 5, respectively. Such a kind of initiative will be a first of kind after the joining of Mahua Maji as JSCW Chairperson in November 2013. Maji along with the two members Shabnam Pravin and Kiran Kumari will attend the courts along with activists and legal experts. Maji is scheduled to inspect the women wards in jails and hospitals of Giridih prior to the beginning of the mobile courts.

Entrance Test for State’s Residential Schools

The entrance test for Netarhat Residential School and Indira Gandhi Residential School was conducted peacefully at Zila School on Saturday. As many as 286 examinees out of 313 candidates appeared for Netarhat Residential School while 100 examinees out of 112 candidates appeared for Indira Gandhi Residential School. The former is for boys and the latter is for girls. The entrance exam is taken ever year for class sixth. The schools are known for producing a better result in the matriculation level.

Swimming trial camp held for rural children

A swimming camp was organised by Jharkhand State Swimming Association for the around 20 village children at Mega Sports Complex on Saturday. The purpose of the camp was to select the best swimmers for further training, said Secretary of the Association Shailendra Tiwary.

RU Philosophy students to visit Katra

A team of 25 RU Philosophy students headed by former Professor Rajkumari Sinha will visit Katra (Jammu and Kashmir) in June to attend the seventh national confederation of Akhil Bharatiya Darshan Parishad scheduled from June 3 to 5. The list of participants includes 20 research scholars and five professors. They will depart Ranchi on May 31.

DPS Students qualify for Medical Institutes

DPS students qualified for medical and top most designing institutes in India. Srijan Sinha selected in Manipal Medical, Indraprasth University and Delhi Medical. Sabya Sachi qualified in National Institute of Design and National Institute of Fashion Technology. Pramod Priya Ranjan selected in Maharashtra Institute of Technology (Institute of Design). Pallavi Keshri qualified in National Institute of Fashion Technology and United world of Institute of Design. Akansha Shahdeo selected in Army Institute of Fashion Technology. Kajori Das qualified in Maharashtra Institute of Technology, PEARl Academy and United world of Institute of Design.

BOB to unveil 87TH Branch on June 2

Bank of Baroda will open its 87th Branch in Jharkhand near Birsa Chowk on June 2. S Kalyanraman chief MD of BCC will inaugurate the new branch of BOB. Naveen Chandra Zonal head of Bihar, Jharkhand and Orissa and regional head Anil Kumar Singh will also be present at the opening ceremony of the new branch.

DPS Principal calls on Governor

DPS Principal Ram Singh welcomed the 1st Women Governor of Jharkhand Draupadi Murmu at Rajbhavan on May 29. He presented a bouquet to the new Governor. He made the Governor aware of the education in Jharkhand and results of the class 10th and 12th board examination. Draupadi Murmu appreciated the excellent results of the school in the board exam.

FJCCI, Railway to hold meeting

Ranchi Railway Division is likely to hold a meeting with FJCCI on June 3 to discuss passenger amenities and status of train compartments. The federation has earlier raised the issue of poor facilities to passengers in trains emanating from Ranchi.
