Pyari quits Tribal Study chief post
Jeypore: Pyarimohan Mohapatra has resigned from the post of chairman as well as from the governing body of the Council of Analytical Tribal Study (COATS). Mohapatra quit the job as he could not give time for day-to-day management of the Koraput Jagannath Temple as its president after the death of secretary Krushna Chandra Panigrahy. His resignation was accepted and KK Mohanty was appointed as new chairman at a meeting held on April 20, informed a Press release.
Vast use of Hindi in office works stressed
Bhubaneswar: The third half-yearly meeting of the Town Official language Implementation Committee (TOlIC), Bhubaneswar under the Department of Official language of India was held under the aegis of Nalco here on Tuesday. Thirty-three representatives from Central Government undertakings and corporations of Bhubaneswar participated in it. Discussions were held on organising joint programmes for widespread use of Hindi in official works. Nalco CMD Ansuman Das said use of Hindi is not only necessary for national integration and complying statutory provisions but also for financial progress and good governance. Committee Deputy Chairman SC Padhy emphasised on publishing a Hindi e-magazine at TOlIC (U) level.
‘Photo Book on Birds’ presented to Guv
Bhubaneswar: Governor Dr SC Jamir was presented a book named A Photo Book on Birds of Odisha written by Pramod Kumar Dhal, Superintendent, Central Excise, Customs & Service Tax, at the Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
First Aid training camp at TITE
Khordha: The Templecity Institute of Technology and Engineering (TITE) with the support of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), State branch organised a two-day first aid training camp at the college premises here on Wednesday. Red Cross doctors Dr Jasobant Narayan Jena and Dr Bikash Kumar Prasad imparted training on various first aid techniques. Around 30 students of the institute took part in the training camp, inaugurated by TITE Principal Dr Narayan Sahoo.
