11 killed, 33 injured in bus accident

Eleven people, including five women, were killed and 33 others injured when a private bus veered off the Garhwa-Ambikapur National highway and rolled down into Annraj Ghati in Garhwa district early on Monday morning. Four people seriously injured in the accident were sent to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi. The four people - Shah Muhammad Ansari, Prabhu Chaudhary, Tahir Raja and Dhananjay Upadhyay -- are said to be in critical condition. However other injured persons were being treated at Garhwa Sadar Hospital. According to reports the driver of the bus lost control at a sharp turn and the bus fell into the valley. The driver and cleaner of the bus were killed on the spot. The private bus -- Baba travels -- was carrying 60 passengers on way to Sasaram(Bihar) from Raigarh (Chhatisgarh).
 
After receiving information Garhwa SP Priyadarshi Alok, SDO PN Mishra, DSP (Headquarters) Sri Ram Samad with police team and ambulance reached the spot and started rescue operation.
The deceased have been identified as Khushi Khatoon (10), Aklima Bibi (35), Birendra Sinha (35) -- Driver of the bus, Iqurar Khan (24), Shautana Bibi (45), Shahjada Bibi (55), Sonu Singh (28), Cleaner of the bus, Birendra lal (35), Brajesh Ram (55),  Asma Bibi (60 years) and one unknown person.
