Fervour and excitement marked the concluding day of the 10th Pinjore Heritage Festival as the young and old alike reached the majestic Pinjore Gardens in droves on a bright Sunday.
The vibrant ambience of the Festival blended with entertaining cultural programmes, interesting competitions for school students and engaging activities promised a great outing for visitors on a pleasant Sunday morning.
Haryana Principal Secretary, Tourism, Sumita Misra said that the Festival extends an opportunity to the people of this region to rediscover their shared heritage with joy and pride.
Managing Director, Haryana Tourism Corporation, Vikas Yadav, Managing Director, said that the Festival is an eagerly awaited calendar event and this year too, it has garnered a great response from people.
Throughout the day, visitors thronged the ‘Apna Ghar of Haryana’, a unique feature created at the Festival for the first time, to catch a glimpse of the weavers, potters and ironsmiths demonstrating their skills. They also lapped up their economically-priced handmade products.
However, the showstoppers of the day were the senior citizens, who were the special invitees of the day. They participated in the best-dressed person competition.
Revving up the entertainment quotient, a photo booth was set up for visitors to get their photographs clicked in Mughalai costumes. The giddha, bhangra and jangam dancers from the North Zone Culture Centre, Patiala gave riveting performances.
The Crafts Bazaar was another crowd-puller, as people got to shop from an array of pocket-friendly handlooms and handicraft stalls set up at the Festival. The visitors also enjoyed mouth-watering dishes and street food at the Food Court.
