If one is going to watch this one on the premise that it will be on the lines of its prequel, it will come as a big disappointment. This is because Ab Tak Chhappan was all about Nana Patekar going on a shooting spree, the sequel is all talk. So, those who abhor violence, this will be a perfect movie to go and see — with Nana Patekar at the helm of things.
But that is all there is to the movie. Sadly, the gun-trotting Nana is at his subdued best. May be director Aejaz Gulab and script writer Nilesh Girkar thought that it was time to do away with all the killings. But they forget that Ab Tak... kind of movies are all about going after the goons and doing a cleanup. like Patekar says in the movie — Tum log society ka kachra ho ... mein society ka jamadar.
While this kind of dialogues are a part and parcel of Patekar films, here they fail to deliver the punch that he is so famous for. It appears as if the director’s mind was on other things, making this a half-hearted attempt to reignite the thrill and the chase that the original Ab Tak... had.
Despite Patekar’s larger-than-life presence on the screen, this film drags and makes it boring even though it is for only 106 minutes.
