Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat on Monday expressed surprise that at no point in time either during the investigation or the original trial, Bollywood actor Salman Khan had claimed that it was Ashok Singh who was driving the car that was involved in the mishap. Talking to mediapersons outside the court, Gharat said that till the actor deposed before the court on Friday last that it was not him but Ashok Singh who was driving the car on the night of mishap.
“Till the actor made a statement before the court on Friday last, Ashok Singh’s name had never figured in the case, excepting that a small mention had been made in the beginning of the investigation that Ashok Singh used to drive Salman’s car during the day. At no point in time had the actor claimed till last week that Ashok Singh was driving the car on the night of mishap,” Gharat said.
