A high-level delegation of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), led by its president Xudong Wang visited Ahmedabad to explore opportunities on Monday. The visit is seen as a step further to the visit of Gujarat’s business delegation to China in May this year who met industrialists and key Government officers.
In order to facilitate communication between the Chinese delegation and local industries, iNDEXTb — a nodal agency of Government of Gujarat to promote investment in the State, Industries Department along with Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry , FICCI, CII and ASSOCHAM jointly organized the seminar at GCCI premise. Addressing the conference, Additional Chief Secretary to Industries Arvind Agarwal emphasized upon key issues, and highlighted similarities between Gujarat and Guangzhou. He said both are large manufacturing states in their respective countries. He added that the follow-up action for MOUs signed between both countries has already started. Gujarat to take this relationship to next level. The Governor of Guangdong will visit Gujarat in September.
He stated that during Gujarat CM’s visit to China, the two States signed MOUs in the fields of urban development, non-renewable energy, smart cities, waste management & recycling etc.Industries Commissioner Mamta Varma said that Gujarat is well connected with domestic as well as global markets. She added that Gujarat has well-planned infrastructure, 24x7 power supply, integrated water supply system and premier educational institutes, which ensures best trained manpower. That’s why Gujarat is the manufacturing hub of India.
Gujarat is the leader in petrochemical industry. These are the things which make the state an attractive destination for investment.
“We are excited today to be in Ahmedabad, a land of opportunities. The aim of our current visit is to exchange communication effectively between both the states regarding business development. We are looking forward to make investment relationship in manufacturing, textiles, service industry, business development and other key sectors,” said CCPIT President Wang.
The Chinese delegation consisted of a 40-member team from 19 Chinese companies led by CCPIT. On the sidelines of the meet, the Chinese business leaders held one-on-one interactions with local businessmen to seek areas of common interest and do business. More than 150 B-to-B meetings took place on the sidelines of the event.
later in the day, an industrial visit to Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation’s Estate at Sanand, near Ahmedabad was also organized for the Chinese delegation.
