3-month's boyfriend remembers Indrani as 'ambitious, calculative'

Monday, 31 August 2015 | Anup Sharma | Guwahati

As the Mumbai Police is still questioning media baron Indrani Mukerjea for allegedly killing her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012, an advocate in Guwahati on Sunday remembered the days he spent with Indrani Mukerjea aka Pori Bora as her boyfriend.

“I met her in 1986 when she was a student of Cotton College in Guwahati. She was in the first year BA and I was doing my law from the law College of Gauhati University,” remembered Advocate Ajoy Choudhury (name changed).

“I do not know what to tell you. Ours was a relationship like any other couple. She was good then. Everybody is good when they are young, isn’t itIJ” Choudhury said while adding that Indrani was, however, very ambitious and calculative in all her moves.

A resident of Ulubari area of the city, Choudhury said that he was in a relationship with Indrani Mukerjea aka Pori Bora for about three months before she left to Shillong to study there. He said that she did not complete her BA in Cotton College and left for Shillong.

“We were only in relationship but never married. Our relationship continued only for three months and it ended up abruptly. She went to Shillong for studies with her parents and I lost all contact with her,” he said.

He said that Indrani was the only daughter of her parents and that they loved her very much. “It has been a long time but I remember she had never told me anything about problems in her family,” said Choudhury.

The advocate said that he came to know about the whereabouts of Indrani only recently when the media reported the arrest of Indrani Bora for allegedly killing her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012.

“When we were in relationship and the girl I knew was different. It never seemed to me that she can kill anyone. But time and circumstances change everything. I feel bad for the daughter,” he added.
