The Association of Democratic Reforms have pointed out that 26 candidates contesting for Delhi Assembly elections are illiterate, 374 candidates have declared themselves as 12th pass or below, while 265 candidates are graduates or above whereas 11 candidates have announced possessing doctorate degrees.

Of the total number of candidates, 36 candidates have declared themselves as 5th pass whereas 89 candidates are 8th pass. A total of 117 candidates are 10th pass whereas 126 other candidates are 12th pass. While 113 candidates in fray are graduates, 51 are graduation professors, 90 are postgraduates. 11 candidates have declared themselves as attaining doctorate degrees.  

The comprehensive study reveals that there are about 66 (10%) female candidates out of 673 candidates contesting this year. In 2013 there were 71 (9%) female candidates out of 810 candidates in the fray and in 2008 there were 81 (9%) female candidates out of 875 candidates contesting the elections. The data analysis show that 465 (69%) candidates have declared their age to be between 25 to 50 years while 194 (29%) candidates have declared their age to be between 51 to 70 years and 6 (1%) candidates have declared their age to be above 71 years.
