Now, when the court has sent AAP MlA Somnath Bharti to two days police remand on Tuesday in a domestic violence and attempt to murder case filed against him by his estranged wife lipika Mitra, all eyes are on his pet dog Don.
During the hearing, the Delhi Police sought Don’s custody that it got. It is understood that now the animal’s dentures configuration will be taken to ascertain if the bite marks on lipika’s body was actually caused by it.
In her complaint, lipika had alleged that her husband had unleashed his dog on her when she was pregnant and was bitten by it.
Since then former law Minister’s 13-year-old pet dog has been at the centre of attraction. A denture, also known as false teeth, is prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth. They are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity.
Joint Commissioner of Police Dependra Pathak told The Pioneer that police will try to make the case stronger on every aspect. “Everything related to the case is being examined. And during Bharti’s interrogation, whichever fact comes out will also be thoroughly checked,” said Pathak.
Don, who is staying at Bharti’s Malviya Nagar office, is unwell and suffering from heart disease. The doctors have advised his master to give him regular medicines otherwise he would die, according to sources.
