The Delhi Police arrested three people in connection with the murder of a constable near Bawana, officials said on Tuesday.

The accused residents of Delhi have been identified as Sumit Dabas (22), Naveen (21) and Amit (20).

The incident took place on September 26 when some passersby informed police about a car parked on the road, and a body was found lying in the vehicle. The body was later identified as that of Sandeep, who belonged to Kanjhawala, Delhi, and worked as a constable in the Delhi Police. The body bore the injury marks, according to officials. Blood stains were also found inside the car.

Police came to know that Sandeep was last seen with three unknown persons on a Dhaba near village Kanjhawala on the night of September 25

“During investigation, it was found that the suspect, Sumit, was missing from his house and he was last seen with his friends Amit and Naveen. All three of them were found missing from their homes,’’ Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikramjit Singh said.

A team of policemen received information that Amit was present in a flat at Sector-1, Rohini, Delhi. The police conducted a raid and arrested him. On his tip-off, the other two accused, Sumit and Naveen, were also arrested from the Tikri border, Delhi

Investigations have revealed that the constable was bisexual and had sexually exploited the three accused. He was also trying to get close to the sister of one of the accused.

On Friday night, the accused men invited the constable to join them over drinks outside an eatery in Kanjhawla. There the trio allegedly made the constable drink till the point he almost passed out, then they drove the car towards a secluded spot, where they allegedly beat him to death, and fled the spot leaving the constable and the car there.
