In the quest of providing students quality education around the wrold, Kent State University is actively looking to expand its global presence with new zeal. This year about 800 Indian students have enrolled in different courses to pursue their higher studies. The University is likely to increase the scholarships for Indian students.
“For the first time Indian students are the largest foreign students in the University that earlier used to be the Chinese students. So, we are likely to give more scholarships to the foreign students and the priority will be Indian students,” Kent University Associate Provost, Global Education Marcello Fantoni told The Pioneer.
The University is also partnering with Indian Universities to bring up more innovative ideas in the field of technology and the courses related to the field. They have recently partnered with IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Kanpur and the idea “is to govern success, grow undergraduate population and alumni association around the world,” says Fantoni.
Marcello Fantoni has received his PhD in 'History and Civilization' in 1991 from the European University Institute. In 1994 he was visiting scholar at Brown University and from 1998-1999, he was fellow of The Harvard University Centre for Italian Renaissance Studies.
Apart from its diversified academic structure, the University has 18 sports teams, 24 residence halls, 290 students clubs and organisations and 1,000 activities and on-campus events.
